Viscosity Chart

Centipoise (CPS)

Described as a unit of dynamic viscosity, centipoise is the amount of force necessary to move a layer of liquid in relation to another liquid.  Centipoise is considered the standard unit of measurement for fluids of all types.

For Hot Melt Adhesive – Higher centipoise means “thicker” glue.  Thicker glue means harder to “melt” and harder to “pump”.
